Our Family Holiday Experience in Bali

Bali was long waiting on my bucket list. I saw the beautiful beaches in the pictures, I saw beautiful people, big villas and scintillating sea and the sunsets. And I thought to myself this is one gift I want to give to my family.

I want to see it all and enjoy it all but I want to do it with the people I love the most. So, here I began my relaxing and purifying journey to Bali, as they fondly call it, Island of Gods, for all the right reasons and I was happy to make such beautiful memories and I am happy to share it all with my loved ones.

I booked my Bali Tour Package for my and family through Shoes On Loose. They meticulously planned everything for us and took care of all the things that were worrying us or could have worried us during the trip including our cabs, tickets, stay, food etc. It was surprising how flawless our trip went, and we didn’t have anything to worry about and we came back with such good memories and cherishing moments.

Our flight

Our flight departed from Mumbai and we reached Denpasar Airport without any stay over through Garuda Airlines. Although, most flights have lay over for hours to reach Bali, but Shoes On Loose suggested us to take Garuda Airlines from Mumbai and save the hassle and time of layover at Malaysia airport. Undoubtedly, our flight was very comforting.

Our stay

Our stay was suggested once again by SOL, we stayed at Banyan Tree Ungasan Bali, and the place was dreamy. It had an infinity pool with view of the infinite sea, where you could swim for hours and wait for the sun to set to enjoy the eye-catching sunset.

We booked a deluxe room for the whole family of four. The best thing about Bali is that currency being so low, we could afford even the most expensive luxuries without burning a hole in the pocket. I can say, we could not have gotten a better treatment and stay in the whole of Bali that we got at Banyan Tree.

Exploring Bali

Temples

Temples are one of the most important parts of the Balinese culture and it makes a huge part of tourism. It is one of the central vibes of Bali, so it comes as no surprise that the island of gods is filled with the most historical and stunning temples. Bali is home to up to 10,000 temples and shrines. Some of these temples will also offer you beautiful sunset views and amazing sceneries. We visited Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Uluwatu Temple and Tanah Lot which are three most famous temples in Bali and without a doubt, some of the best temples I have seen in my life.

Beaches

Bali is a beach paradise and it was so much fun to explore different beaches, trek down to the beautiful beaches with my family. While my wife and I lay down to have sunbathing, and at times we did went inside the water, but the kids were energetic throughout playing with sand, building castles, getting into the sea. Some of the beaches also have water sports such as paragliding, parasailing, kite surfing etc, but they weren’t meant for me so I went for surfing at times.

Water sports

Bali has a lots of water sports activities and a fair number of surfing spots which the adrenaline seekers just cannot afford to miss. Nusa Dua island offers a host of other unique and novel water sports such as jetpacks and jet bikes, parasailing, paddle surfing, wake-boarding, fly-boarding and many more. You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to trying out adventurous water sports in Nusa Dua.

We were at Nusa Dua for our water sports activities. We all went together for the banana boat ride and a glass-bottom boat, which was a lifetime memory for me and my family.

Trekking

Mount Batur is a sacred mountain surrounded by a lake and other peaks to beautify the landscape. When we heard from our trip planner how amazing the sunset would be from here, what better excuse to take the kids out for some exercise? We left early in the morning, the trek is comparatively easy, I could say that by looking at my kids who thoroughly enjoyed the trek. It was like a little picnic and the sunset was the best part about that day.

Island hopping

There are a number of islands around Bali. And if you are looking for a cruise experience, then there is a lot you can find in Bali. Our cruise was taken care of by Shoes On Loose. There are some of the best islands you need to explore around Bali. You can take a morning tour to Lovina beach and enjoy the sunrise and dolphin show. Nusa Penida is one of the most scenic islands around Bali where you can get pretty and romantic pictures. Lombok island is the perfect place if you want serenity and peaceful time.

Shopping

No family can ever come back from a trip from shopping and it didn’t come out to be a the problem in Bali since there are so many markets and they are so cheap. We were in Seminyak the last day when we went out for a shopping spree, we got some handicrafts and Balinese masks from the market, some clothes and accessories and small souvenirs for people back home.

Bali is definitely a place you can enjoy with family.

Thanks to Shoes On Loose who planned our trip carefully which included places where a the family could enjoy.
