Basil D’Oliveira Trophy – Third Test

Third Test:

England is going to play the third test of the Basil D’Oliveira trophy 2019-20 against South Africa at the St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth, South Africa. 

Victory:

The host never won the trophy at home, if the home side wants to change the history, then this test is very important for the team. Moreover, the team will earn not only the point for ICC World Test Championship, bit also earn the point to improve the position with points in point table.

Weather at the Venue:

Weather shows some mix and match during five days of the test, as couple of days may be going to be mostly sunny and couple of day may have some rain in the morning, and a day with wind. 

History Between the Teams:

England has upper hand at the venue as the team won 5 matches out of the 9 encounters, whereas the host won only the test match in 1957. The other three matches were concluded in draw. After the reinstatement, the both met at the venue only thrice, where homes side lost one and other two were completed in draw.

History at the Venue:

The host have average overall record at the venue, the team played 30 test and won 13, whereas lost 12 matches and 5 were concluded into draw. After South Africa’s reinstatement, the team played 18 test and won 9 whereas lost only 5, the rest resulted into draw. The encouraging factor for the home team is they lost only one test match in this decade, but that was the recent one against Sri Lanka.
