5 Proven Tactics to Make Education System Better in Schools

Schools are places where we teach our children vital life skills and they are necessary for the development of human civilization. Lots of people have complaints about the school system. But we need to see what exactly is going on that makes the school such an unenjoyable experience. Some of the main problems are because of outdated practices, too much work, and stress.

Over-generalization is also a big problem of our educational system like being grouped by age, not ability. And everyone is being taught the same subjects. It’s similar as if the doctor gave the same prescription to everyone. We need to bring change in our educational system to make it better which also requires a school administration management system. Here are five proven tactics to make the education system better and enjoyable experience:

1. Engage:

To make the educational system better in schools, we need to engage students by introducing topics that are based on real-world issues. Ask students to analyze information from several sources instead of memorizing the facts from books. They should get access to the internet, expert reviews, and interviews to study complex topics and go beyond the textbooks.

Teachers can give different projects to students to cover the complete course. Also, help them to study relevant original documents and data. Students can also be asked to present their projects to parents and community groups instead of only teachers. This will improve their learning.

2. Cooperative Learning:

Sharing knowledge and learning in groups can also help students in many ways. Students can learn many skills like collaboration, emotion management, and conflict resolution etc. by working in groups. But they will need guidance from trained teachers. This will also develop a sense of responsibility in students along with helping behavior. Thus, it will provide a strong foundation for their lives as a productive individual and a responsible citizen.

3. SPACE Learning Model:

SPACE learning model should be introduced in our educational system by the school administration. There are a few questions that needed to be answered for the betterment of our educational system. For example, a teacher should know how much our students can learn, for how long they retain, what they know, and what they don’t.

This can only be possible if a teacher has one or two students. But there are more than 20 or 30 students in each class usually. It persuades us to move towards individualized education and use the SPACE learning platform.

4. Comprehensive Assessment:

For a better education system in schools, we need to expand our assessment. It should not consist of scores or grades only. It should consist of a detailed assessment and a continuous profile with student’s strengths and weaknesses. So, teachers, students, and parents can work to improve weaknesses and can pursue their strengths as a career. Moreover, tests should be only a way for students to learn from their mistakes. Students should also have the opportunity to improve their scores by retaking the exams.

5. Involve Parents:

Students usually learn more when their parents are involved. Because parents are their first teacher and they can encourage their children to learn. Therefore, school administration and teachers should build an alliance with their student’s caregivers and parents and involve them in projects. Educational goals and expectations from students should be communicated to their parents. This will help parents in assisting their children with homework and lessons.
